Siemens opened an impressive new project in Hengqin this week: a so-called “German City” covering 150,000 sqm on the island opposite Macau, designed to promote cutting-edge technologies in buildings, energy and transportation, according to China Daily.
The “showroom” features six “neighborhoods” with a variety of shopping and entertainment venues. It also offers cultural attractions, educational institutions, healthcare and medical services.
The platform supports many IoT-ready applications, integrating Siemens’ big-data assets in vertical areas such as air quality, buildings, transportation, energy, environment, and safety. Through dynamic real-time visualization, it provides an early warning and decision-making mechanism for managers and decision-makers.
