New HK-Shenzhen road link ready

The Heung Yuen Wai Highway linking Hong Kong’s new border crossing to Shenzhen will open to traffic on May 26, with the HK$33.7 billion Liantang-Heung Yuen Wai control point expected to open by the end of the year, reports SCMP.

The new road’s opening is expected to ease congestion in the northern New Territories district of Hong Kong and facilitate the further development of cross-border trade, especially goods carried by truck between Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Anyone in Hong Kong who has ever used the Aliexpress app might appreciate this – delivery times will likely improve.
