The Nansha campus of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has begun construction, with its first phase scheduled for completion by June 2022. Covering 716 acres, with a total investment of 9.58 billion yuan, students will be officially enrolled at the campus in September 2022.
According to the announcement, HKUST (Guangzhou) will first recruit master and doctoral students in key interdisciplinary fields in the first six years, eventually reaching the scale of 10,000 students, including 6,000 research graduate students and 4,000 undergraduate students. Among them, 40% will be students from Mainland China, 60% from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, and foreign countries. The annual tuition fees for graduate students and undergraduates are 100,000 yuan and 150,000 yuan respectively.
