Smart Cities: Shenzhen and Guangzhou were ranked third and fifth, respectively, for AI capabilities among Chinese cities. Beijing overtook Hangzhou this year to take top spot. Read more.  

Clean Cities: Shenzhen was ranked third among 168 Chinese cities in terms of air quality, according to China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment. Zhuhai, Huizhou, Zhongshan, Jiangmen and Zhaoqing were also in the top 20. Read more. 

Route Opening: A train from central Europe arrived in Dongguan yesterday, carrying 1,500 tones of lumber from Belarus, after nearly a month-long journey, marking the beginning of a new trade route between Guangdong and central Europe. Read more.
