Zhuhai tax rebates: Zhuhai has joined the rest of the Greater Bay Area’s cities in offering tax rebates for qualified “talents” from the two SARs. These are designed to make it easy and desirable to move into Guangdong but not pay higher Chinese tax rates. Read more (in Chinese).

Mountains to get higher: The central government is considering allowing local governments more power to set their own legislative agenda. This probably won’t affect Guangdong much, as it already has a higher-than-average degree of autonomy, but perhaps it’s the thought that counts. SCMP has more.
