Dongguan goes digital for HK investments

Dongguan recently signed a deal with the China Legal Service (HK) Ltd and the Association of China-Appointed Attesting Officers Ltd to digitalize the commercial registration procedure for Hong Kong enterprises seeking to invest in mainland companies.

Last year, Dongguan simplified its notarization document for Hong Kong enterprises, cutting it from 10 pages to only 3. But digital signatures for Hong Kong enterprises have only now been accepted. This will allows mainland authorities to notarize the signature of Hong Kong companies.

Dongguan is the first prefecture-level city to sign such a deal. It includes establishing a database for simplified notarization documents, sharing the information of digital documents, and allowing Hong Kong companies to register a Dongguan entity from offshore.
