Big IoT battery plant for Huizhou

A unit of Desai Battery Technology will construct a RMB2.6 billion (US$375.4 million) plant in Huizhou to make power units for IoT devices, reports Yicai Global.

The Shenzhen-based firm said in a statement it plans to sign a construction agreement with the city’s Zhongkai High-Tech Industrial Park, without disclosing the project schedule, and that it expects to expand its product portfolio in the field of medium-sized lithium batteries and other types of power units. It projected sales revenue of RMB7 billion from the plant once fully operational.

The high-tech park will provide 330,000 square meters of industrial land for the project, which can yield up to 600,000 sqm of floor space.
